fyi I recruit and welcome trolls, thus removing their troll status. If you like troll-like behavior, they don't have as much fun doing it! Perfect logic.

@above; Lol'd at your post. You don't need a required IQ to post on Guru, or any skill at life or the game. You need to understand that before you propose ideas to force improvements on the system.

Well I hate to break it to you but I'm no vapid 19 year old girl and you're no master illusionist which is probably why you're getting so many reactions as you are in this thread at first I thought the idea wasn't too bad but now that I can see the egotistical and superior way you're approaching anyone that discusses the subject, I don't think I would want to be a part of your little guild wars utopia (or should I say, dystopia).

Ultimately what this comes down to is one of life's golden rules - treat people how you expect and wish to be treated in return. Didn't we all learn this in junior schooling?

OK, so I think the troll-thread/not-troll-thread question has been decisively answered.

You misunderstand young padawan. I communicate with people by swearing because that is what they react to.

Most people just grind on and on and on with their lives and never really take heed. Walk around the street and stare at someone. You will see the suffering and the ego. If people's lives are so shitty i expect them to swear at me more and just let it out instead of walking around so ignorantly.

Now intellectual debate is interesting. Here we can actually discuss grand ideas and how to solve them. Unfortunately most people are so set in their beliefs that it is impossible to really debate anything.

My beliefs are like water, they change when I see a good reason to change them, then I live up to them.

You didn't elaborate much on the subject so I thought it necessary to since he didn't seen to get what WvWvW is capable of in terms of bringing the communities together on each server.

WvWvW can even eliminate some of the random trolling. People will have an easier time trolling the opposite team they are fighting in WvWvW and the trolling can be on a much larger scale thus making it more fun to troll in WvWvW than in a city.

Firstly, I'm older than you are so the "young padawan" rubbish doesn't stick and only makes you look self entitled and precious.

Secondly, no not everyone reacts to swearing in the way that you hope they will and I think you'll eventually learn that you need to approach people with a "like for like" approach; if someone is being calm and polite with you, no swearing your head off at them will not win you friends or influence people. Quite the opposite in fact...funny that. It's not "cute" or "charming" and while it will get you remembered, it won't be for the right reasons.

I agree with Chthon - the troll or not question has definitely been answered.

Better community might be needed, but i think mentality today is a consequence of PvE being a farm festival and PvP being empty... In other words, do the same over and over and get big profit... that's not what was intented at begin..

Also better relationships may be needed. That support forum is a cool idea, but when it's about dealing only with minor bug fixes or being redirected to the wiki( where your post won't be read anyway ; it would be the same to tell us to **** off), i don't think it's really a must..

@Man w/ Club

Please refrain from painting sexually explicit descriptions on this site, the minimum age is 14 to register and my son happens to be one of them. While exposure to occasional swearing is expected your description of the godlike illusionist and the ignorant 19 year old is over the top.

It is hard enough to raise a child to be good member of the community without people like you providing such a bad example.

What? Where is the logic in this. Do you teach your kid to fear or to be curious. Do you 'love' your kids out of ego and attachment, or do you want them to truly learn?

If you do not have the balls to explain this to your kid then he or she could turn into a raging pervert because of all the things you have repressed.

It is people who think like you who cause the most evil in this world my friend. To teach with fear is to teach ignorance and hatred.

Freedom of expression is a sacrifice. It is one that the majority of western civilization once took in order to live freely and happily. What must you sacrifice? Boredom. Comfort. Security.

Your response is so predictable it is not even funny. I warned you once and will leave it at that.

Ultimately, if the community is shit, it's because humanity is shit. No point trying to change that, because for every person you "save", there are 10 more just like them, or worse.

This is why we have little tabs to turn chat channels off, because, while you can't make the world a better place, you can edit your perception of it.

Beer, bitches and master illusionists aren't words I'd normally associate with community.

You are so dense it hurts to explain to you the cause of your suffering, because I know you will instantly react without any patience.

Patience.... sigh. Very few people are even close to it, and considering its the internet, which is the scum bucket of the world where people who cant make it go to let off steam... yea.

In GW2 I'm gonna 'troll' the piss out of 98% of the playerbase, just come try stop me.

You create your own reality. Do you want a world that soon descends into another dark age? The choice is up to the individual. When you see that choice, it is yours and yours alone, and up to you to observe the consequences of all your actions.

That was the point I was trying to make.

"Building a better community" isn't going to work, certainly not in the context of this thread. If you try the trolls suggestions, you're just going to land up disappointed, and anything else is just feeding him. Also, isn't the "Don't feed the troll" sign implicit on every forum, everywhere, by now?
